Kit H.
What a wonderful piece to watch. Insane how his career has grown so much over the years. he's been all over the world and started as a small company then grew to a semi big company with a small team but they do big things. Cool how he has over 500 types of typography that he has access to. I really enjoyed his take on illustration.
I enjoyed his personal takes on how he got to where he did and having the background he does. Starting with the military at a young age and then going from there. I liked the biography he did with the poster and using his words in his beard. Something so simple and yet so effective. Typography is used to tell the story and how you want it to be told depends on what type of Typography you use. Typography is used in every day life that you don't even realize you see that influence you every day.
His take on faces is interesting. he likes faces and he looks at a face and says how do i make this different. So he takes them and changes or adds things to make you look at it different and make it unique to a particular product or subject and he uses faces just as much as typography to communicate with people through his design methods.

How to think like a designer Video
Extremely inspirational. I like how he talks about what inspired him to become a designer. How he was inspired by one logo. Thats the main reason why I got into graphic design. I enjoyed his personal perspective of what he looks for in design.
Crazy how a logo makes the company succeed. Would never of thought that. Like that Saks logo has changed over 50 years. When they changed it to a more squared logo and gives it a cleaner look that it helped generate sales. The nuts box was cool that people wanted to buy these nuts just because of the box that they came in.
My favorite part was when he was discussing how he tackled 12 logos at the same time. He said he thought it was just a logo but he ended up learning more than he thought he would. Which is pretty cool to see. This was a great video and really enjoyed it.

The Color wheel video
Very interesting that the color wheel makes up the entire color spectrum. 12 colors on one wheel. I do like the light version of the color wheel and I'm excited to be able to get to that point. It's insane that you can make any color from the color wheel. You can make tons of other colors with hues and saturation amounts. The value makes the clarity of the color and is extremely important and things can fall apart really fast.
When you look at a color its always done by the hue, saturation and the value of it. Without value you can't have color. This is extremely important and will always take this in to consideration in to my future. I like how in detail he goes in to the importance of value in order to see the whole picture and how it shoes you where one thing ends and the other begins. You can change hues and saturation all you want but there is no room for value adjustments.
Cool to make sure you calibrate computer to make sure you're getting your computer using the correct colors and you should check you're friends computer to see if the colors look the same. You can even go for a professional calibration tool that gets the most out of your computer. You should always have a color wheel on your computer or on hand so you know what kinds go best together. I really enjoyed the tips about the watches and the color guide that helps with matching colors to make life easier for yourself.

Marian Bantjes
Fist off I love ted talk broadcasts so I was super excited to watch this piece. Im with her about wanting to take a personal approach to graphic design. I want my own style and be able to put that in to what a client wants me to do. I think that having some sort of financial stability doesn't allow you to get stressed and in return you can get more creative with everything you're looking for. I like how she has her own personal approach to design and is extremely creative about what she wants to do.
I enjoy the fact that graphic design gives you the opportunity to be able to create your own style or to even find your own style. I like that you don't need paper in order to make something and that you can use anything that your mind can think of. I really enjoyed her approach to typography and how free spirited she is.
Interesting that she doesn't like to work in illustrator because she says she can't think compared to when you just start drawing in on paper. Makes sense because its easier to think when I'm holding a pen compared to staring at a computer. One project could launch a career. Thats enough for me to want to get there and I will get there and this piece made me even more excited to get this going for my own future and career.
